Georgian defender signed a 3 years contract with the Russian club.

23 years old defender Gia Grigalava signed a 3-year contract with the Russian team FC Krylia Sovetov Samara after a few interesting campaigns as left defender in Volga Nizhny.

Grigalava was injured in the last months but he’s slowly recovering, already had the chance to debut with his new club in a friendly match and score a nice header.

The young defender has already played 7 official matches with the National Team of Georgia and he’s considerate one of the rising talent defenders of the country.

He began his professional career in FK Rostov in 2007 and one year after it, was part of SKA Rostov until 2010. In these years he was on loan twice, to FC Moscow and FC Rostov. In 2011 he became part of FC Volga Nizhny Novgorod, and consolidated himself as key player of the team.

Krylia Sovetov is in the Russian Premier League, and they have another Georgian in the team, key central defender of the team and Georgian National Team – Aleksandre Amisulashvili.

The fact of two Georgian National Team players playing together, and specially defenders, has to have a positive impact on the defensive level of the National Team as well.
