Georgian champions qualified to the next stage with a 9-2 victory on aggregate against EB Streymur.

Dinamo Tbilisi had a difficult match on the Boris Paichadze National Stadium last week; they needed almost 60 minutes to finally break the strategic defense of the Faroese champions and to start to show some acceptable football.

The returning match was completely opposite. From the beginning the visitors were engaged to the idea of scoring in the first minutes, so in at the 12 the game was already 0-2. The first goal came from the penalty spot by Xisco, and the second after a nice header of Jaba Dvali who received a nice assist by Elguja Grigalashvili from the right side.

After the second goal Georgi Merebashvili’s amazing shot hit the woodwork, everything looked clear with a 1-8 on aggregate so the Georgians started to play in low temp.

But again defensive ghosts reappeared at the 27th minute, in a situation which looked like a copy of the first match’s received goal, this time Ustaritz and Georgi Loria, couldn’t understand each other, and left the ball on the goal line so Niels Danielsen could score for the hosts.

The interesting fact about EB Streymur in the first match was related to the team scoring a goal without a single direct shoot to goal. In this match, and due to the circumstances, the Faroese champions managed to attack a few times, but with no clear danger until the last minute of the game.

In the second half the newcomer of Dinamo Tbilisi, Patrick Vouho, substituted Xisco and had two one on one clear opportunities to score his personal third goal against EB Streymur but in both cases René Tórgard looked both: nice and lucky.

The domination was clear from the visitors even if the game temp was slow and relaxed. At the end, a majestic shoot by Darko Glisic made the final 1-3 and guaranteed the qualification to the Third Qualifying Round of the Champions League to Dinamo Tbilisi.

In the upcoming round the Georgian champions will face a definitely strong team, the Romanian side Steaua Bucaresti. The first match is going to be on Tuesday 30 July in Tbilisi, and exactly one week after that, the returning game will be hosted in Bucaresti.
