Dila Gori held to the 3-0 victory in the first leg and made it to the next round.

After a convincing home victory by 3-0 in the first leg, the Georgian side Dila Gori managed to play in a effective way in Denmark to assure a place in the Third Qualifying Round of the Europe League season.

Despite the first result, the fans of also known as Aalborg BK, injected good atmosphere in the stadium and gave some strengths to their team to press more and more with the time running out.

The visitors made the main strategy based on counterattacks and had better opportunities to score, but it’s important to mention the outstanding performance by the Georgian goalkeeper Nukri Revishvili, who actually was the principal protagonist from Dial Gori.

The first minutes were controlled by the visitors; the winning team in the tie started relaxed and managed to drive the possession and attack dangerously to the Danish team. But slowly and with the time the hosts began to control the tempo, but not the game – the Georgians looked more comfortable playing on counterattacks from behind than AaB Fodbold in possession.

At the 16th minute the game saw the first polemic action, a Georgian player was on the pitch after a hard crash, and the hosts didn’t throw out the ball, the referee seen no need to stop the play even if the injured player had the possession. The attack of Aalborg almost finished with a goal but Kasper Kusk missed the target. The angry Georgian international goalkeeper argued hard with the referee due to the Fair Play violation and received the first yellow card of the match.

At the 34th minute the Georgian goalkeeper became the icon after stopping two dangerous shoots in a row. From the visitors Georgi Iluridze looked as the most dangerous player, being almost unstoppable to the Danish side members.

The second half looked quite different, the trained by Georgi Devdariani, started more from the back and with a main idea of counterattacks. This gave to the hosts the opportunity to construct more chances, but loosing chances wasn’t helping to hold their hopes. After 75th minute Revishvili stopped the fifth clear goal shoot, and destroyed any possibility of a miracle happening. The Georgian goalkeeper looked amazing in every single intervention, recovering the mistakes made by the defensive line.

Despite the lack of possession, Dila Gori took danger to Aalborg’s goal in every single counterattack, but it was the shoot of Kakhaber Aladashvili at the 80th minute which almost gave the victory to the Georgians. A nice counter ended with a sensitive shot over the goalkeeper and crashed to the woodwork.

After the regular time the Danish players had two clear scoring opportunities, but Rolf Toft and Nikolaj Thomsen couldn’t shoot properly.

This is the second year in a row that Dila Gori manages to eliminate a Danish team, the last year they achieved two victories against AGF Aarhus.

With this victory on aggregate 3-0, Dila Gori qualified to the upcoming round, where they will face the Croatian Hajduk Split.
