The second biggest team of Georgia, Torpedo Kutaisi, added 17 new players to they’re squad and started a complete new era, a few weeks before they’re European Appearance.

Torpedo Kutaisi has been the main page of the whole sports media of the country after they’re radical changes in the management and the whole crew of the squad. It started after the coach Georgi Geguchadze left the team, and with him – for different matters – other players were out of the line: Georgi Datunaishvili, Georgi Beriashvili, Lasha Shergelashvili, Data Rigvava, Georgi Oniani, Bidzina Tsintsadze, Elguja Grigalashvili and Valeri Bolkvadze, among others. Some of this players were principal actors of the team week after week to gain the third spot of the local league and the chance to play the Europa League 2013-2014.

The new era started with the announcement of the new managing crew, which was leaded by the new head coach of the team, the Spanish, Gerard Zaragoza Mulet. And with him, the signing of 17 new players to the team, mainly from Lokomotivi Tbilisi (Pirveli Liga). Some of these players are members of the U-19 Georgian National Team, which is having an interesting success:

Bacho Mikhava, David Mtivlishvili, Revaz Chiteishvili, Omar Patarkatsishvili, Erekle Sultanishvili, Giorgi Garozia, Luka Kikabidze, David Jikia, Mate Tsintsadze, Tornike Kapanadze, Nika Chanturia, David Ubilava, Aleko Mzevanishvili, Giorgi Gabadze and Luka Zarandia.

The worries are about the participation of this team in the next Europa League 2013-2014, which is a serious competition and one month isn’t enough to solidify a competitive squad, and specially so young as the new Torpedo Kutaisi.

This process has a positive point if we analyze the fact that all this players are going to keep playing together, which will give elemental straight to the youth generation.

The Imeretian team is starting the off season preparative in Austria.
