The most winner team of Georgian football history – Dinamo Tbilisi – will represent the Caucasian country in the upcoming UEFA Champions League 2013-2014. 

Dinamo Tbilisi came very close to qualifying to the group stage of Europa League but was stopped by AEK Athens through an extra time goal from the penalty spot in Boris Paichadze Stadium.

Zestafoni fought bravely in the first round at home, but was finnished off by two goals of Joseph Akpala in the second leg match in Belgium.

Overall it can be said that both clubs did well compared to earlier campaigns of Georgian clubs. They have gained important international experience and if they manage to progress over the season we might be able to seem them in the group stages next year.
Dinamo Tbilisi and FC Zestafoni are both just one step away from the main stage of this years Europa League. On 18.08 Zestafoni will face the belgian side Club Bruges at home and Dinamo will travel to Greece to face AEK Athens.
